Measurement Monday Spicy Edition

Hey everyone! I'm kind of in the same boat as Spunky. I was NOT going to weigh today. After a weekend where I had no control over what I was eating I didn't want to weigh today. I stepped on the scale said a silent prayer and looked down....

165.... WHAT!?!?!?! That isn't possible. I didn't gain six pounds in one week, especially a week where I ate really well, except for the weekend, but even then I did my best, and where I worked out consistently.

I got off the scale and walked away angry, but thinking I needed a new scale because I'm pretty sure this one is dying. It's been doing this a lot lately.

About ten minutes later I went back and stepped on the scale.

161. Okay, I could believe two pounds, but I don't. I don't accept it. I really don't believe I gained two pounds last week. Especially because I feel skinnier then I did last week and I worked really hard.

I need a new scale.

On another note....

Countdown 'till Half Marathon

  1. When you normally eat good, and then have a bad day, your body usually sluffs it off within two days or so...so by Wednesday you should be back to normal. Do not let the scale rule - just do your best and keep going. Too many people get frustrated by the scale and then give up. The scale is a SMALL part of the total picture of what's going on inside your body. You can be converting fat to muscle and the scale won't change - but you will be getting thinner so your clothes will fit looser. Marbled fat inside the organs can be dissappearing - making for a MUCH healthier you. Etc. I could go on and on - many benefits for eating healthier and exercising that the scale does not show. Let it be only a small measurement of your total health. Keep going - you can do it Spicy! :) Love you - see you in a couple days - yipee! :) Wish Spunky could come and be at the finish line too! Maybe we can chat with her as we run! :) Love you both!
